As a try-out I entered the Croisière Jaune today, 6 days after the start, using the pilot boat. I was dropped in position 73 with 77 boats competing, in an absolutely awful location.
Lesson learned: Don't use the pilot boat when the race is well advanced.

Let that be a lesson to you Frank, I've always disliked the pilot boat idea. I didn't like it on VR and I don't like it here either. What's more it will prevent Ard doing "Alternate Friday Races" because you'll all start from the pilot boat not the start line.
