I have to keep remembering that the game does not use the decimal in wind as part of the boats polar diagram.
Why not just display the wind as the game uses it to stop the misrepresentation and confusion for people , especially tacking for slightly better wind, then realising it is a waste of time. If the wind used is not 10.4 but 10, then say so. Likewise if 9.5 is really 10, then say so.
stop all this 9.4 , 9.6 rubbish and just put whole numbers in the wind square. Or would that seem a little boring to see on the game screen, and you could then say what's the point of tacking, just point the boat at the finish ?

"NOTICE: decimal are not used yet:
from 5.5 wind knots to 6.4, 6 knots is used by the game engine.
from 6.5 wind knots to 7.4, 7 knots is used by the game engine.
from 7.5 wind knots to 8.4, 8 knots is used by the game engine."
have a good day

Merci mon ami, it is to this which i was referring. For so long this has been the case, I was asking a question why has it been left for so long ?
I assume it must be very difficult to make the winds whole numbers ? ( i myself have no clue

)

I think this would be the wrong way to proceed. Sure the code can be modified to round the number, but if one is going to modify the code then it seems to me making the polar calculator interpolate the data and calculate the boat speed for the actual wind speed would be better. So a wind of 7,5 and one of 7.8 produce different boat speeds for identical TWAs. It's not that hard to do, and this would be a real improvement to the game.

Good point; yes i get this. And imo only of course, i think make for a better game too. At least you the look for that extra small piece of wind than actually ploughing through larger areas where the wind is actually the same.
