Users,

We have 2 issues to report:

1. We are investigating the outage of our Websites:

Ftp://Ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov
Ftp://Ftp.ncep.noaa.gov

System admins are actively working to restore services.

2. All of our websites, including nomads.ncep.noaa.gov and ftpprd.ncep.noaa.gov, may experience slowdowns during peak model times as we are performing some maintenance over the weekend.

Sujet: Objet: [NCEP.list.NOMADS-ftpprd] Current status for NOMADS/ftpprd - relief of slowdowns but data gaps


Hello users,

We have been working since Thursday 11/21 to resolve latency issues due to the network upgrades that have been preventing us from running out of College Park. We have made some progress with mitigations so this morning we are failing NOMADS back to College Park where we have known data gaps. Moving forward all datasets should be complete beginning now, and download speeds should be greatly improved at peak times.

The Dataflow Team here at NCO continue to work with our networking and system administrator counterparts to fix the latency issues that are still present for populating our College Park data center. We will also work this morning to backfill some of the more popular datasets, so if you don't see data right away please be patient and wait an hour or two before reaching out to inquire.

Thank you for being patient with us while we work through this important upgrade. More to come as we have more developments here.

Sujet: Objet: [NCEP.list.NOMADS-ftpprd] NOMADS news: Upcoming maintenance for para NOMADS, and model upgrade information


NCO will be performing maintenance tomorrow that may affect para.nomads.ncep.noaa.gov for up to an hour. We believe this may only impact the front end website, and that downloads will continue to function if you are using a script, but that is not assured. I do not have an exact time window for this work, just that it's expected to happen 12/19.

Messages plus inquiétants tombés ce soir: panne critique dans les data centers de la NOAA, tous les services sont down sauf le FTPPRD (qu'est-ce ?) avec no ETR, surement un truc genre "Estimed Time of Repair, donc aucune idée de quand ce sera réparé.

Avec la procédure de secours, RG peut décaler les vents pendant quelques jours, mais il ne faudrait pas que ça dure trop...

We have failed NOMADS to our College Park data center to temporarily restore data access. Expect slow download speeds accessing both NOMADS and FTPPRD as well as TGFTP while we are in this configuration. NOMADS may be turned off again but for now it will be accessible.

Boulder continues to be worked but we still have no ETR at this time.
