Evolutions on how to calculate the Overall ranking

From the first November 2019 the method of calculating the Overall ranking will change.

For the dual purpose of revitalizing and rebalancing this overall ranking here are the 2 changes that impact exclusively the share of challenges.

The challenges will now have a coefficient of 3 instead of 4 except the Jules Verne which keeps its coefficient of 4.

On the 1st of November 2019, the results of the challenges, except for the points of the Jules Verne, will be kept only on a sliding year as for the other races.

Thus on the 1st of November 2019 a challenge result obtained before the 1st of November 2018 will be deleted and so on with each update of the Overall ranking.

Good challenges to all.

thanks

good to see that the overall ranking runs for a sliding year. So after a full year of sailing with RG, you might see your strength in the RG field ;)

Is the second best time for a challenge that was sailed let's say 6 months later than the best time which was sailed a year or more ago, included in the overall ranking, or is it also lost?

New rules of the overall ranking, sorry for the forgetting

The Overall ranking is now composed as follows:

- Current and future single races with a coefficient of 1 (weekrace) to 5 (round the world).

- Legs of leg races with coefficient of 1 to 3.

- The general ranking of these leg races with coefficient according to the number of legs.

- The records (current challenges) not subjected to be remove with a coefficient 3, except Jules Verne coefficient 5, and a regular improvement of the polar.

- New challenges (rolling over a year) with variable coefficient depending on the route.

The Overall ranking keeps the current system of the 20 best performances of the previous 12 months.
