Should be great to go out sailing again John after all this confinement shit. Here in Portugal and the rest of Europe there will be no relief for a while.

I'm keeping myself busy at the moment spraying about 20 pine trees in the garden. This, in order to prevent the procession caterpillar from spreading. These pests can give you serious skin problems if you come into contact with them. Don't know if you have them in OZ.

Too bad that there are only a few EF sailors participating in one of the top races. It takes away some of the excitement. I somehow don't think this Vendée Globe Bar is going to last the race.
Yes Frank, I'm still only doing a wee bit of maintenance inside as November is a very blowy month and not very settled, but next week I'll be sailing for sure. At least, there is no Covid-19 at all in Victoria. No new cases for the last 18 days.

Bugger! Alex Thomson's Hugo Boss has structural problems. This doesn't sound good.

They expect that he may loose almost 1000 miles while he is making repairs to a longitudinal beam. That's two of the top boats hit hard.

Meanwhile Jean Le Cam on a very old design is still doing quite well. That's the problem with the newest boats, some things can fail unexpectedly.

It's not going to help my score on André's ranking. A Thomson was one of my favourites. I hope Sam Davies puts the pedal to the metal. I'll be cross if she lets me down!

The BOSS is back!! :D :D
Hmm! It's not that I want to doubt it but having seen the cracks of the beam in one of his videos, I doubt that he could mend them. I certainly don't think his repairs are as good as the original design, and that fatigued in waters that are well short of the worse he has yet to meet. I don't think he'll be able to go as fast as he would like.

Anyway I wish him luck!

Yes, I'm sorry to hear that as he was my favorite and he is a good sailor. I'm not surprised though, one rudder out and repairs that I would not trust to the longitudinal beam, I think giving up is the wise choice.

Ok Sam Davies, you're next on my list! Don't let me down girl!!!

Bummer! Now it's Samantha Davies's turn. She hit some object... Not sure yet how much damage was caused but when you hit something at 20 knots some damage is sure to occur!
