Leg 3, start sunday 13th of december

The third leg will start sunday the 13th of december 20h00 UTC+1 and will lead to Brest (Brittany).

There is buoy close to Greenland.

Note: Originally there was a 4th leg that VR did not accept to organize, and that closes the round the globe path (Ouessant - New York passing in the Hudson Bay).
There is no reason we should not do it

Beware of space distorsion in theses high latitudes:

Squared 1° x 1° cells as shown on the map interface are not square shaped at all: they have a very little width but always the same height (60 nautical milles).
There is a (horizontal) scaleline at the low-left corner of the map, check it as you zoom in on a high latitude cells.

Another cartographic projection such as the following one is more realistic for distances close to the poles:



Thus, some boats may be far to the left on the map game, but "behind" (distance to the buoy) other boats that are more on the right on the map game, but with higher latitude...

In other words, the Earth is round
